Anne

Bourse

Guest artist in the studio Mimosa Echard

Anne Bourse's work is strewn with swirling lines and letters that look like something out of a burlesque cartoon or a psychedelic fresco. They invade the surface of books, clothes and papers of all kinds. But although her practice takes in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, textiles and text, it is above all punctuated by the continuous movement of writing about oneself. She defines her practice as "traversed by elective affinities that create the fictitious community in which [she] works".

Her work has been shown at the Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Scheusal (Berlin), Credac (Ivry), Galerie Cassandra Cassandra (Toronto), Fondation Ricard (Paris) and most recently at the Kunsthalle Bremerhaven.
