In the steps of the Masters, drawing the Beaux-Arts de Paris collections

In the steps of the Masters, drawing the Beaux-Arts de Paris collections

Détail du cours

This training course plunges the pupils in the Chapelle des Petits-Augustins. Surrounded by works of the Beaux-Arts de Paris collection, they will dialogue with them - nudes, religious or mythological subjects - inspired by the great Masters of art history.

Starting from the very essence of painting or classical drawing to apprehend the proportions of forms and composition will be the first tools to refine the glance, to try and reproduce the muscular nudes and the expressive faces of Michelangelo in his tomb of the Medici and his frescoes in the Sistine.

Then students will work on the construction of space, discover the gestures of modernity by trying different techniques and mediums of sanguine, black stone and wash drawing such as the French artists who copied the great Masters of the Renaissance or the Grand Siècle.
