Winners Call for Proposals for Société Générale's artistic patronage

  • 14 winners in 4 categories : Painting, Graphic-Drawing-Arts, Photography, Sculpture-Installation
  • A financial endowment for the acquisition of works for the Société Générale Collection and an exhibition in the fall.

Societe Generale has been a leading patron of contemporary art in France for over 25 years, notably through its collection, which acquires, exhibits and shares the works of artists from the emerging French and international scene.

In a particularly difficult context for the cultural sector, Societe Generale's artistic patronage reaffirms its strong commitment to the young contemporary art scene and announces the winners of the call for projects launched in November 2020 among the graduates of the last five years (2015-2020) of the Beaux-Arts de Paris.

152 applications were received in December, 28 of which were shortlisted by a jury chaired by Frédéric Oudéa, Chief Executive Officer of the Societe Generale Group, and composed of external experts, representatives of the Beaux-Arts de Paris (including its Director Jean de Loisy) and Societe Generale.

The Acquisition Committee of the Société Générale Collection then met on January 5 and selected 14 winning artists who will receive an endowment of €5,000 per work acquired. These works will join the 1,200 works in the Societe Generale Collection and will be exhibited at Societe Generale's headquarters in La Défense during the second half of 2021.
