à partir de là

The group exhibition à partir de là  brings together the works of 21 young artists. What happens from there?

Thanks to the different paths that cross the Centre d'art contemporain Chanot, the exhibition invites us to pay attention in a different way to the multiple resonances and links that are created and then unraveled between the works, the artists, the public and the curators.

Composed of students of the professional master 2 "Contemporary art and its exhibition" of Sorbonne University, the collective "à autre voix" met with artists from the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the École des Arts Décoratifs. Bringing together their diverse practices - installation, performance, sculpture, painting, drawing, video - the exhibition from there focuses on the gaps and multiple resonances of works between them. The cohabitations, friendships, shared workshops and common influences weave together certain gestures, certain materials, certain ways of being and doing.

These links are the starting point of a curatorial and collective exploration where other connections than thematic relationships are at stake. They experiment with the complexity of the relationships between the works and take shape in the writing. Like language and the diachronic rhythm of sentences, they build singular and plural links between the works, one detail following another like a word after another. The result is a series of itineraries that invite visitors to perceive variations, to venture into distinct wanderings and plural encounters.

à partir de là, there is a starting point: a school outing, a budding friendship, a proposal, the beginning of a text, the entrance to an exhibition.
