HORS-LES-MURS - Barbana Bojadzi RICERCARE

After Karolina Orzelek in 2020, Ymane Chabi-Gara in 2021 and Clédia Fourniau in 2022, artist Barbana Bojadzi wins the fourth edition of the Prix Sisley Beaux-Arts de Paris pour la Jeune Création. To mark the occasion, Sisley organizes an exhibition of her work at its Paris headquarters in Friedland.

The exhibition draws a parallel with the "ricercare", a 16th-century musical form typical of the Renaissance. The ricercare is renowned for its freedom of expression, improvisation and flamboyant style. The artist tends to explore this same freedom of research in painting, through the use of raw materials and the play of stratified materials and dynamic contrasts.

"In my works, I strive to capture an immediate perception of our world, without having to read or situate gestures, traces and figures in time."
- Barbana Bojadzi

This distinction rewards the work of young graduates with a scholarship and an exhibition at Sisley.
